Southwest A&P Class Attends Career Discovery Days

On Tuesday, February 24th, Southwest High School Anatomy students attended Career Discovery Days at McCook Community Hospital. The group had the chance to experience a few of the many careers in the medical field. Out of all of the careers that the students had the chance to tour and learn about, there were a few that grabbed their attention. Some students had the chance to be a physician’s assistant by learning how to stitch up a pigs foot. Others got the chance to tour the radiology department, which included seeing MRIs, CT scans, X-Rays, and ultrasounds. Many students learned about surgery and got to practice surgery prep. The career day trip gave students the chance to learn the importance of the jobs in the medical field and how they affect everyday lives.

Students who attended Career Discovery Days were Jackson Porter, Michael Lord, Ashlee Morosic, Natalie Longnecker, Keith Helm, Garrett Fries, Kyle Van Pelt, James Sughroue, Olivia Pollmann, Karlie Swink, Korin Jackson, Megan Helberg, Christian Amack, Shelby Nelson, Ali Townsend, Taylor Solberg, Liz Morquecho, Mackayla Wright.
