Letter from the Superintendent-January 2018
January means a fresh start for all of us. Students, staff and parents alike. Time to get after whatever it was that we didn’t get accomplished the first semester and look forward to a successful 2018. Our students worked hard in the first half of the school year, but now comes that long winter stretch where it seems like we go for quite a while before we get a break. Each month, however, will have at least a three day weekend to take advantage of. Those are great days to schedule needed appointments or trips that would otherwise take kids away from school which will affect their learning.
School resumes on January 3rd, so the kids get to have a short week of school after Christmas. Everyone can settle into the second semester and get back into a routine. There will be plenty of extracurricular activities to keep kids and parents busy, with wrestling basketball, band, choir, FFA, quiz bowl, speech, academic decathlon and art contest all coming up. There’s something for everyone and it’s great for kids to be involved. They appreciate positive support, as well!
I hope that everyone had a pleasant break and enjoyed Christmas, the New Year ringing in, and we can look forward to a great 2018. Just remember seniors, your school year is already more than half way over. Senior parents – get ready!
