Letter from the Superintendent - May 2017

The year has been a fast one. We have had many successes, some challenges, much growth, and a great group of students will move on to life beyond high school. My hope for them is that they find their passion in life and can enjoy the fruits of their labor. Some of our graduates will go off to school, some will go off to work, and some will be a part of the military. Some will stay in the area and some will move away and start life somewhere else. We hope that they are all well-prepared to take that next step towards adulthood.

Thanks to the parents that have helped our students throughout the year by insisting they do their work, diligently reminding them of the importance of doing their job as a student. It take a lot of work to be a parent, and it certainly can have its days that are trying. We all want the best for our children, and showing as much support for their dreams and aspirations is so very important. Along with that comes a dose of reality, that dreams are achieved through a lot of sweat, toil, and hard work. It takes focus, persistence, and determination. Those are the things that we have tried to implant into the minds of our students. Dreams are achievable, as long as you are willing to put in the sacrifices it takes to get there. I know I will see many dreams achieved over the next several years.

Best wishes to you, graduates. I salute you, you parents and loved ones, and all of those in our community that have helped along the way. You have all had a part of the success you will see in these young people. Have a great summer!

Sincerely,

R. Todd Porter - Superintendent
