FFA WINS CONTEST
Southwest FFA wins Biotechnology Contest
Megan Kelley, Brian Riley, Austin Minard, and Asic Helberg took top team honors in Biotechnology. Megan was first overall, Brian 3rd, Austin 4th, and Asic was 5th. The team of Micah Hinz, Brooke Ruggles, Miranda Wordekemper and Kaylee Potthoff placed 3rd in the contest. Miranda was 9th, Kaylee 10th, Micah 12th, and Brooke 13th overall.
The Natural Resources team placed 2nd overall as a team. Megan Kelley was 1st overall, Austin Minard 11th, Asic 16th, and Dillon Fries was 19th. Trevor Van Pelt, Erin Greenlee, Brian Riley, and Ashley Ryan also competed.
Southwest had three individuals compete in Agriscience. Lance Kelley received 3rd overall in the contest. Ellie Adam and Isabella Ryan also competed in the freshman level contest.
Southwest did not have a team place in the livestock judging contests but did have several individuals ribbon. In the Junior High division, Wyatt McConville received a white ribbon. G. O’Dea, Jaden Miller, Katelyn Ellis, and Bailey Springer also competed.
In the FR/So division James Sughroue, Kaylie Fimple, and Drew Hofman received ribbons. Taylor Solberg, Olivia Pollmann, Garrett Fries, Ali Townsend, Trey Mousel, Taylor Honeymann, Shelby Nelson, Connor McConville, and Dustin Riley all competed.
In the JR/SR division Brenton Ellis and Lindsey Sughroue received ribbons, Andrew Conway, Ashley Schluckebier, and Haley Teter competing also.
