Parent Letter
The preschool staff will be conducting family visits on Aug. 6th and 7th. Mrs. Moore’s visits will be on Aug. 6th and Ashley’s visits will be on Aug. 7th. While your teacher is meeting with the parents the other teacher will be with your child introducing them to the room.
The purpose of these visits will be to decide on goals for your child for the school year, introduce you to the teacher, and give you an overview of our preschool program. Please go to the school website, www.swpschools.org and click on the link to schedule a visit with your child's teacher. In the comment section, please fill in with your child’s name.
All new students need to be registered in Infinite Campus. This is very important and needs to be done ASAP. If you don’t have an Infinite Campus account: go to the school website and visit the preschool article for the clickable link.
If you do have an Infinite Campus account, it's easier! Just login to your account and choose Online Registration1. Choose new student registration, and fill out all necessary information.
This meeting is required before your child starts preschool.
Enclosed is a list of goals and objectives that our curriculum focuses on during the school year. Please choose one numbered goal from each category (social/Emotional, Physical, language, cognitive, literacy, and Math) that you would like as your child’s goals for the school year. Please bring them with you to your preschool visit. There is an example included with these letters.
There is a pick-up authorization form allowing you to specify who is authorized to pick up your child. Kindly list all individuals permitted to do so. If there is someone not listed, you can contact the school to add them. For safety reasons, your child will only be released to individuals on the authorized list or those who have been approved by contacting the school beforehand.
You will also need to bring a copy of your child’s immunizations and a certified copy of your child’s birth certificate, if they did not attend Southwest last year.
We will be making a family bulletin board in our classroom so please bring a picture of your family to be put up on the bulletin board. Make sure it is a picture you won’t need returned until the end of the school year.

- 2 large boxes of tissues
- 4 black dry erase markers
